Miles Davis - horn player and bandleader was focussed on his art to the point of destruction – both to his own physical and mental health and to the happiness of those closest to him. The central theme Davis's life was his relentless quest to to break boundaries and live life on his own terms. He continuously broke with old conventions and sought change in everything he touched musically. He caused much sadness in the process but, overwhelmingly, his is a legacy of awe-inspiring music.  Still to this day it challenges our perceptions of sound and its power over us.
