Ziegfeld’s Follies of 1907 was a lavish production in the tradition of the famous Parisian musical revue, the Folies-Bergére. The opening show was set in New York and features a scantily clad chorus line of beautiful women.. and so, it was in 1911, that the show became known as the Ziegfeld Follies.
Famous for the show’s display of many beautiful chorus girls, commonly known as Ziegfeld Girls, who “paraded up and down flights of stairs as anything from birds to battleships. They all usually wore elaborate costumes by designers such as Erté, Lady Duff-Gordon and Ben Ali Haggin.
